US Prez Joe Biden holds talk with Israel PM Netanyahu, assures humanitarian assistance into Gaza

International desk: Amidst ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, US President Joe Biden held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. US Prez welcomed the release of two additional hostages from Gaza.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing efforts to secure the release of all the remaining hostages taken by Hamas – including Americans – and to provide for safe passage for U.S. citizens and other civilians in Gaza.  He also noted the need to maintain the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

In a statement released by the White House, it said “The President also underscored the need to sustain a continuous flow of urgently needed humanitarian assistance into Gaza.  The President updated the Prime Minister on U.S. support for Israel and ongoing efforts at regional deterrence, to include new U.S. military deployments.  They agreed to speak again in the coming days.”

In addition, Biden briefed Netanyahu on Washington’s support for Israel and ongoing regional deterrence efforts, the statement read, adding that they agreed to talk again in the coming days.
