Delhi Liquor Policy Scam: Court extends custody of Sanjay Singh till October 13

National desk: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court has extended the remand of AAP MP Sanjay Singh by three days. Enforcement directorate (ED) arrested Sanjay Singh in an alleged excise scam related to money laundering. ED today in court demanded to extend the custody of Sanjay Singh for 5 days after which Rouse Avenue court extended the custody by three days only.

Now Singh will be in custody of ED till October 13. Today he was produced in the court after 5 days of custody.

ED had sought further custody on the grounds that he is not cooperating. His close associate Sarvesh Mishra is also not cooperating. The agency also said that material collected shows that a bribe was demanded to clear liquor licences. ED also said in the court there is evidence to prove bribe was demanded but no evidence for whether bribe was actually taken or not.

Court also advised Singh not to talk with media or give any interviews. Court also added that reporters should not ask questions directly to him (Sanjay Singh) as it can pose security problems. Sanjay Singh was arrested by ED in a case in which AAP leader Manish Sisodia was arrested.
