 Foot-over bridge collapsed partially, one accused held by Delhi Police

New Delhi: A foot over bridge partially collapsed after being hit by a loaded crane in East Delhi’s Lakshmi Nagar area. Giving this information, the police said on Monday that no casualty has been reported in the incident. Police said that the accident took place late on Sunday night when the truck was taking the crane from Akshardham temple area to Burari.

The incident happened last night at Laxmi Nagar, near Lalita Bus stand. As per police, the portion collapsed because the truck got stuck under it. Police after reaching the spot found that one big trailer vehicle loaded a crane near Akshardham Temple and it was being transported to Burari, Delhi via Geeta Colony Pusta road. After being stuck, the truck dragged and collapsed the part of bridge for few meters. The driver of the truck has been identified as Neeraj Kumar.

Police added that “No casualties or injuries have been reported. The road has been cleared and traffic is running smoothly.” A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered and driver Neeraj has been apprehended. Further investigation is on.”
