 AGTF arrest operatives of Bishnoi and Brar gang, 4 pistols recovered

Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state   Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Punjab Police have averted sensational crimes in the state with the arrest of an operative of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang from Landran in Kharar, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Wednesday. The arrested accused has been identified as Sachin alias Bacchi, a resident of Mangali in Hisar. Police teams have also recovered four pistols along with 12 live cartridges from his possession.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that following the reliable inputs, Police teams from AGTF under the overall supervision of ADGP Promod Ban have arrested Sachin Bacchi from near the gate of Chandigarh Group of Colleges in Landran. The accused was involved in providing logistics support and hideouts to the members of the gang, he added.

He said that preliminary investigations have also revealed that the accused along with other members of the gang were hatching a conspiracy to attack the assigned targets given to them by their foreign handlers.

Sharing more details, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) AGTF Sandeep Goel said that Sachin Bacchi has a criminal record and was wanted by the Punjab Police. Further investigations are on, he said, while adding that more recoveries and arrests from this module are expected.
