India Vs New Zealand: Virat’s terrific 95 makes India won, Shami won Player of the match

Sports desk: In the 21st match of the World Cup 2023, India defeated New Zealand by four wickets and recorded straight 5th win in all 5 matches played so far by Indian team. Indian team has beaten New Zealand in ICC event after a hiatus of 20 years.

With this victory, the Indian team has secured the top position in the points table with India 10 points.  Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. New Zealand batted first and scored 273 runs. Darrell Mitchell played a century inning of 130 runs in 127 balls. While Rachin Ravindra scored 75 runs on 87 balls. Glenn Phillips scored 23 runs. Apart from him, no other batsman could touch the figure of 20. In response to the target of 274 runs, the Indian won the match by losing 6 wickets.

Virat Kohli played a match-winning inning of 95 runs in 104 balls. Apart from him, Rohit Sharma scored 46, Ravindra Jadeja scored 39 and KL Rahul scored 33 runs. Loki Ferguson took 2 wickets for the Kiwi team. Mohammed Shami took maximum 5 wickets for the Indian team. Kuldeep Yadav got 2 wickets. Bumrah and Siraj took 1-1 wicket. India achieved the target by losing six wickets.

Virat’s terrific inning of 95 runs in 104 balls paved way for India’s win. Also Mohammed Shami last minute 5 wickets for the Indian team made him player of the match.
