Pakistan Vs Afghanistan: AFG outplay PAK, records historic win by 8 wickets in Chennai

Sports desk: Afghanistan has defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the 22nd match of the World Cup.  Batting after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 282 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Afghanistan scored 286 runs after losing just  two wickets and won the match.

Earlier, Afghanistan defeated England and stunned everyone with their performance. In this match, Pakistan, batting first, scored 282 runs losing seven wickets. In response, Afghanistan scored 286 runs by losing two wickets in 49 overs and won the match by eight wickets.

For Pakistan, Babar scored 74 runs and Abdullah Shafiq played an inning of 58 runs. At the same time, for Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran scored 87 runs, Rahmat Shah scored 77 not out and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 65 runs. Captain Shahidi scored unbeaten 48 runs.

Ibrahim Zadran who scored 87 runs in 113 balls won the title of player of the match. he also became the first Afghan to reach 1000 ODI runs.

Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafiq scored half-centuries for Pakistan. Babar scored the maximum 74 runs. Abdullah Shafiq played an inning of 58 runs. In the last overs, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed batted brilliantly and took the team to 282 runs. Both contributed 40-40 runs. Saud Shakeel scored 25 and Imam ul Haq scored 17 runs. Mohammad Rizwan could score only eight runs. Shaheen Afridi remained unbeaten after scoring three runs. For Afghanistan, Noor Ahmed took three wickets and Naveen Ul Haq took two wickets. Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai got one success each.
