Cricket in Olympics 2028:  IOC approves inclusion of cricket and four other games

Sports desk: Cricket is all set to get global as International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the propels to include cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Today, The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Mumbai held its session on five new games including cricket to be included in the 2028 Los Angeles games. The five games that have been included in the 2028 LA games are baseball/softball, flag football, lacrosse (sixes), squash and cricket.

Baseball/softball, cricket, and lacrosse will make their comeback in LA Olympic games whereas white flag football and squash will make their Olympic debut. Orginally there were 28 sports for LA games but after the inclusion of 5 new games including cricket, now a total of 33 sports will be played in the Olympics.

LA 2028 to have 33 sports 

Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Canoe, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Football (Soccer), Golf, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Rowing, Rugby, Sailing, Shooting, Skateboarding, Sport Climbing, Surfing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball and Wrestling; these 28 sports were initially included and now after the inclusion of 5 new games namely, baseball/softball, flag football, lacrosse (sixes), squash and cricket, there are now total 33 sports in the LA games.
